The tight crop of this photograph doesn’t leave a lot of negative space, which I tend to be drawn to in images.  It makes me feel quite claustrophobic, even though the road is empty. The geometric shapes created by the criss-crossing roads and the shadows cast by them are visually interesting and stop you from scanning over the image and moving on.
